Answer to Question 1

B
B. If the client is ambulatory, chemical enzymes may be used as an alternative for debridement. However, this treatment may not be as effective as debridement in some clients.
A. Moisture-retentive dressings or synthetic dressings are contraindicated. These wounds are usually treated conservatively.
C. As long as the wound is noninfected and eschar is dry and intact, the wound may be left alone.
D. Moisture-retentive dressings or synthetic dressings are contraindicated.

Answer to Question 2

B
Prime the infusion tubing by filling it with IV solution. Be certain that the tubing is clear of air and air bubbles. Large air bubbles can act as emboli. A needleless system does not specifically prevent the introduction of air emboli. Medication incompatibility may lead to crystallization of the medication and may cause emboli to form from precipitate. It will not lead, however, to air embolism. Catheter size does not contribute to emboli formation.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.
