Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
Allopurinol blocks the terminal step in uric acid formation by inhibiting the enzyme xanthine oxidase. Disulfiram, lactulose, and memantine do not lower uric acid levels.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B, C, E
Clonidine is useful in decreasing tremors, agitation, and sweating associated with opioid withdrawal. Clonidine does not have a hypotensive effect, treat depression, or alleviate nausea.
