Use the following example to design an experiment with one IV and one DV: Watching aggressive television shows and hitting in preschool. Allow the IV to have two levels. Be sure to address how participants come to be in the levels of the IV.

Answer to Question 1

Children are randomly selected to be in the study. Children are then randomly assigned to one of two conditions:
 watching a neutral TV show
 watching an aggressive TV show
All children are then observed one full day at preschool. The number of time the children hit other kids is counted.
