ANS: Circular breathing is the practice of breathing in while also expelling air
through an instrument in order to create an endless flow of sound. Players of the zurna and
the arghul use this technique.



Answer to Question 2

ANS: Middle Eastern singing is overly ornamented, with either no vibrato or
exaggerated vibrato. Tonally, the singing styles tend to be low or reedy.
