ANS: A melisma is a vocal type of phrasing in which many notes are sung to a
single syllable.

ANS: Dervishes are twirling dancers of the Sufi religion, who dance in an effort to
achieve spiritual enlightenment. Nay flutes, daff drums, choral singers, and other instruments
accompany them.
