Why did fusion garner the most attention during the 1970s even while more traditional forms of jazz
  were still being prominently performed?


 
 

a. Older musicians were inspired by the speed of the younger ones
  b. Younger players were attracted to it and it caused the most controversy among the media
  and jazz fans
  c. Record labels preferred fusion because it was easier to record
  d. Wynton Marsalis championed it aggressively
