Answer to Question 1

 strong rhythms reinforced by drum
 selection starts out with drums and triangle with tempo steadily increasing until the panpipes join in at 0:11
 From then on the tempo is medium and the beats are steady, but not grouped into any familiar Western meter.

 By 1994 the Inti Illimanni had added the hammered dulcimer and soprano saxophone, instruments not native to Chile or the Andes; sophisticated arrangements featuring contemporary settings of traditional Andean and Caribbean genres leading the group to more universal creative roots. Their repertoire also had become quite diverse showcasing the breadth of Latin American (if elaborately disguised) forms . . .
