  • In 1527 Babur, a Moghul general, decided to stay in India, resulting in a powerful Moghul dynasty that supported learning and culture.

  • The Moghuls were Muslim traders and war lords from Central Asia and Afghanistan.

  • Beginning in the 12th century they entered India with the war lords periodically raiding Indian cities.
