 The people of the Arab world have been on the move' both historically and in the present time. So, the music and the culture of the Arab world spreads out in a diaspora: Rather than being confined to a single geographic location, its people and their traditions are dispersed beyond the boundaries of the region.
 What are some of the aims of this chapter?
