 Each layer in the texture has a different rhythmic character, in addition to the rhythm of the whistled melody.
 Unity is created by the repeating melodic lines and the repeating percussion cycle.

Answer to Question 2

 High-pitched ostinato part (performed by the scissors) on the upbeat of counts 2, 3, and 4
 Middle voice is active, quick notes increasing the density of the music's overall rhythmic texture
 Lowest-pitched bass sound (inking stamp) plays occasional fills
