 It is a  . . . clever and ambitious composition that attempts to communicate and inform listeners about some of the very complex ways that the Canadian federal government laws regarding the legal definitions of First Nations identity can have an enormous impact on the day-to-day lives of the aboriginal peoples of Canada.
 Bill C-31 allowed for people who had previously lost their federally recognized Indian status, through enfranchisement or marriage, to have their status reinstated.

Answer to Question 2

 Formed in 1997 as an all female a cappella group
 Solidified as a trio including founding member Debbie Houle (Mtis) with Sarah Pocklington (Cree) and Sherryl Sewepahaham (Cree-Dene).
 The name of the group derives from the Cree word asiniy which means rock.
