Answer to Question 1

It is important for students to understand how large the existing electrical demand is day to day in the United States, and how small amount that solar energy produces. The next part of this equation is how large the opportunity for increasing the amount of solar energy. For example it is easy to see that solar energy has the potential to double or triple in the next few years which represents a large increase in the number of jobs in this technology.

Answer to Question 2

Solar energy systems can only produce electricity when the sun is shining during the daylight hours. Also cloudy days and rainy days may also impact the amount of energy you will get from the sun.
