Answer to Question 1

The single axis and double axis solar panel tracking system uses a ballscrew or other mechanism that has the ability to move the face of the panel and a specific number of degrees to cause it to track the sun. A motor provides the rotary motion for the ballscrew. Sensors may be included to make the system automated, or it can be moved manually from a table of data indicating the precise location for each day.

Answer to Question 2

Bypassed diode minimizes the power dropt caused when a solar panel does not receive maximum sunshine, such as if one panel is covered by cloud cover, and other panels in that array receive more sunlight. If a bypass diode is not used, the voltage drop in one panel may cause the output of all the panels to drop it
