A joule is the amount of work done at the rate of 1 watt for a period of 1 second. 1 joule = 1 wattsecond.

A large network of pipelines. Compressors are used to reduce the gas volume and provide enough pressure to move the gas through the pipelines. The

pressures in the main pipelines are as high as 1500 psig, but the pressures are reduced before entering local distribution system lines.
