National Fire Protection Association promotes standards for installation of heating and air conditioning systems. The NFPA is primarily interested in fire safety.

SMACNA publishes standards related to duct installation.

NAIMA publishes standards for the installation of fiber ductboard and fiberglass insulation.

Air Diffusion Council publishes standards for installing flexible duct.

ACCA publishes duct design manuals and a specification for quality installation.
