Answer to Question 1

Air flows from the supply plenum, through the humidifier and into the return plenum. Water evaporates in to the air when the dry, warm air passes over the moist media in the humidifier.

Answer to Question 2

Water will start to condense on the inside of windows and wall if the humidity level maintained in the house is too high for the outdoor temperature.
