Answer to Question 1

A process tube, or process stub, is a copper tube connected to the system for the sole purpose of evacuating and charging the unit at the factory.

Answer to Question 2

Small changes in the fan speed make large changes in the power requirements. The motor amp draw should be checked to insure that the load on the motor does not exceed the motor's capacity.
