Answer to Question 1

Nominal size is the name size. It is the approximate inside diameter. For iron pipe the outside diameter is  inch larger than the nominal size. For copper tubing, the outside diameter is 1/8 larger than the nominal size.

Answer to Question 2

ACR tubing must be either type L or type K. ACR tubing is cleaned, degreased, dehydrated and sealed to keep its inside clean.
