Answer to Question 1

The air is distributed based on the heat load of the rooms. Rooms with a greater heat load receive a proportionally greater amount of air.

Answer to Question 2

Black iron is used for piping natural gas. Copper is commonly used for LP gas lines, but it should not be used with natural gas because the odorant added to natural gas reacts with copper.
