Why are duct friction charts designed for sheet metal duct ducts not accurate for fiberglass ductboard or flexible ducts?

Answer to Question 1

Most refrigeration lines are made of copper. Lines for ammonia systems are made of steel because ammonia chemically reacts with copper. Some systems use aluminum tubing.

Answer to Question 2

Fiberduct and flex duct have a higher friction rate than sheet metal, so sheet metal friction charts are not accurate for either fiberduct or flex duct.
