Answer to Question 1

Connect a 1 x 3 metal collar on unit flange with sheet metal screws. Connects ductboard to collar using long sheet metal screws and large washers. Seal with UL 181 tape or fiberglass fabric and mastic.

Answer to Question 2

They are used to provide heat in the winter in supermarkets, or for reheating the discharge air during dehumidification using heat that would normally be thrown away..
