Answer to Question 1

Refrigerant enters a flooded coil as a saturated liquid and leaves as a saturated vapor. A flooded evaporator is filled with liquid refrigerant.

Answer to Question 2

Refrigerant enters a direct expansion evaporator as a saturated liquid vapor mix and leaves as a superheated vapor. The last portion of a direct expansion evaporator coil is dry.
