Answer to Question 1

An electrical circuit that contains a source and path without a load is called a short circuit. A short circuit causes overheating of the source and conductor. A circuit that contains a source and load without a path is called an open circuit. An open circuit does not operate.

Answer to Question 2

The voltage to each load is the same in a parallel circuit because each circuit has its own independent connection to the power source.
