Why should a system be leak tested after it has been repaired before it is charged?

Why is it important when working on electrical components such as pump motors to make sure that all of the water in the system has been removed??

Answer to Question 1

Systems with leaks cannot be properly evacuated; air will just suck in through the leak. Recovering refrigerant after it has been added adds to the time required.

Answer to Question 2

Because a sudden gush of water can create a major safety hazard from electric shock.
