What are some differences between piping practices for air conditioning systems and piping practices for commercial refrigeration systems?

Answer to Question 1

Most air conditioning manufacturers do not recommend oil traps, double risers, or expansion loops in their refrigeration lines. In general air conditioning piping should be kept as straight and simple as possible.

Answer to Question 2

They not only need to be sized properly to begin with, but most jobs require field adjustment of these components to fit the actual conditions of the installation.
