Calculate the heat loss for a concrete slab on grade floor for a room with the following specifications: 10 foot by 15 foot bed room on corner of house 2 sides exposed HTM of 40

Answer to Question 1

First add the exposed lengths 10 + 15 = 25 feet exposed

Next, multiply the exposed length times the HTM 25 x 40 = 1000 Btuh Note: this HTM is based on linear feet of exposure, NOT square feet of area

Answer to Question 2

Safety relief valves may be set to relieve back to the low side of the system or through escape piping safely to atmosphere. They will re-seat when the pressure returns to a safe level. Rupture disks are one-time failure devices

that release the refrigerant upon excessive pressure. Fusible plugs melt at a set temperature and will release the refrigerant as a one-time failure device.
