Answer to Question 1

By adding subcooling to the liquid refrigerant. Additional subcooling reduces flash gas in the liquid line and also reduces the amount of flash gas necessary in the metering device.

Answer to Question 2

Components designed for R-22 may not be able to withstand the higher pressures of R410A.
