Answer to Question 1

They must be properly supported until they are permanently attached to prevent overturning or collapse. Workers should not be allowed to work under pre-cast components that are in the process of being erected.

A structure is appropriately reinforced only if an independent, qualified professional engineerother than the one who designed and planned the lift operationscertifies that failure of a lifting unit in any part of the structure will be confined to that part and will not threaten the stability of the overall structure.
