Answer to Question 1

Monthly social security benefits are paid to employees or their survivors when (United States Social Security Administration, 2009):

a) An employee reaches retirement age. Employees are eligible for reduced
monthly social security benefits at sixty-two years old or their entire monthly
premium at a later age that depends on the year when they were born. For some
it is sixty-five and for others it is sixty- seven and a half and for others it is later.
The age at which someone is allowed to file for social security benefits for
retirement could be changed by an act of Congress.
b) An employee becomes permanently disabled.
c) An employee passes away.

Answer to Question 2
