Answer to Question 1

Double breasting is used in order for the members of a firm to be able to bid projects as a union contractor and as a nonunion contractor by having a subsidiary that is the opposite of the parent company.

Answer to Question 2

Open shop is when workers are not required to be a member of a union to work on a project. Closed shop is when workers are required to be a member of a union to work on a project.
