Answer to Question 1

Legal aid attorneys are lawyers that provide services to citizens who are not able to afford regular attorneys fees due to their economic circumstances.

Answer to Question 2

Trial courts are the second level of state court systems and they are above small claims courts. Appellate courts hear cases that have already been heard in trial courts and if either the plaintiff or the defendant is able to prove that something occurred during the trial that was inappropriate in the eyes of the law it would entitle him or her to a new trial at the appellate court level.
