Answer to Question 1

Preliminary injunctions are used when a plaintiff alleges that the actions of the defendant are harming the plaintiff and they require that a defendant cease and desist, which means they are no longer able to continue doing what the plaintiff claims is harming him or her.

Answer to Question 2

Statute of limitations are laws that limit the amount of time that a plaintiff has to file a lawsuit in order to prevent open-ended liability, which is being responsible for an action for an indefinite period of time.
