Application software are designed to support specifics tasks or business process, while systems software controls the application software and manages how the hardware devices work.

Answer to Question 2

They are customer focus, process improvement, and empowerment and teamwork. They are important because TQM requires a total commitment to continuous process improvement to achieve customer satisfaction, a team approach to problem solving, and empowered employees willing to make decisions.
