With non-flagrant violations, the company's policy follows the established legal standard for progressive discipline. This means that employees may commit minor violations without being immediately terminated. However, it also means that each violation results in a step being taken up the disciplinary ladder, and this ladder goes only one way. With progressive discipline, minor offenses are cumulative. Since they are recorded in the employee's file they never go away
