Answer to Question 1

The main parts include the production well, separator, steam turbine, alternator (generator), condenser, cooling tower and an injection well.

The flash steam plant operates with a very high temperature source. Pressurized hot water passes through a special control valve or orifice plate where it expands and produces steam. A separator removes remaining hot water and brine and the rest of the process is the same as the dry steam plant described in question 11.

Answer to Question 2

Geopressurized reservoirs consist of high-pressure hot brine (salt water) in deep underground reservoirs made of permeable rock that traps the water under an impermeable layer of cap rock; often natural gas is trapped also.

Hot-water reservoirs are geothermal heated underground pools of water and steam, which are the most useful form of reservoir for electricity production.

Most strokes are caused when blood clots move to a blood vessel in the brain and block blood flow to that area. Thrombolytic therapy can be used to dissolve the clot quickly. If given within 3 hours of the first stroke symptoms, this therapy can help limit stroke damage and disability.
