Answer to Question 1

Data collected for analyzing performance includes wind speed and direction, which is correlated with the power output of the generator. If the power output is not up to the expected value, it may point to a maintenance issue or other problem with the turbine.

Answer to Question 2

When winds change direction, the yaw control can optimize the position of the turbine. If the wind is too strong, the yaw position can be adjusted out of the wind to avoid damaging the turbine.
