Answer to Question 1

The current at the end of the absorption stage is set to a few percent of IMAX. Because IMAX is 10 A, the current is typically between 0.1 A to 0.2 A.

Answer to Question 2

The on/switch charger is essentially a trickle charger with an automatic on/off switch. Instead of a continuous charge as with the trickle charger, the on/off charger senses when the battery voltage reaches a preset reference level (VREF1) corresponding to full charge or float charge and shuts off the current to the battery.
When the battery discharges down to a second preset level (VREF2), it turns the current to the battery back on.
