The purpose of side and end relief angles are:
 
  A) To relieve the pressure of cutting from the point of the tool and divert it to a stronger part of the tool
  B) The side relief allows for feed into the work and the end relief provides clearance for the tool so it will not rub
  C) To insure uniform even chip flow across the tool face
  D) To carry the chip away from the point of cut

Question 2

A threading tool should:
 
  A) Have no side relief angle
  B) Be ground to off set any built in back rake from the holder, thus giving it zero rake
  C) Have a negative rake since it has a tendency to dig in
