Explain how you would test for voltage in a fusible disconnect on the line-side and load-side terminals.

Answer to Question 1

The line side of a fusable disconnect is at the top of the switch. You must be aware that power is always applied to the terminals on the line side, even when the switch is in the open position. You would put your meter leads on each terminal at the top of the disconnect switch. When you take a reading on the load side terminals at the bottom of the switch, you must be sure the switch is closed so that voltage will be available to the load side. If you do not have voltage at the load side terminals you might have a blown fuse.
