Answer to Question 1

The solar wind is gas flowing away from the Sun, and can be considered an extension of the corona. The solar wind interacts with Earth's magnetic field to produce aurorae. The solar wind can disrupt navigation systems and cause surges in electrical power lines and damage to Earth's satellites
