Answer to Question 1

According to the International Astronomical Union, a dwarf planet must orbit the Sun, not be a satellite of a planet, and be spherical. In addition, a dwarf planet must not have been large enough to clear out most of the smaller objects near its orbitunlike the other eight planets that grew in the solar nebula by absorbing small bodies that orbited the Sun in similar orbits.

Answer to Question 2
