The rotation curve of the outer portions of the Galaxy revealed what about its mass?

Answer to Question 1

The outer portions were moving faster than Keplerian motion, so the mass distribution is not like our centrally-focused solar system, but most of the mass lies farther out in vast amounts of dark matter.
