What do infrared and ultraviolet waves have in common? How do they differ?

Answer to Question 1

Both are forms of electromagnetic radiation, both travel at c in a vacuum, and both are largely absorbed by our atmosphere. They differ greatly in frequency, wavelength, and photon energy, however, with UV much more energetic than IR.
