Answer to Question 1

That Jupiter had four moons in orbit about it, so Earth was not the center of all things. Ptolemy contended that all things move around the Earth.

Answer to Question 2

It contains a lot more debris than all the other systems, it is made of young, bright shiny ice, it shows spoke patterns driven by the magnetic fields, and at solstice it is so bright it doubles the brightness of the planet.
