Jupiter's rapid rotation is key for both the formation of cloud bands and it's magnetic field. As seen in the comparison of Venus and Earth, rotation helps drive organized circulation of the metallic hydrogen, which in turn generates the magnetic field. The rapid rotation also helps form the organized cloud bands.
