Two point charges, initially 2.0 cm apart, experience a 1.0-N force. If they are moved to a new separation of 8.0 cm, what is the electric force between them?
 
  A) 2.0 N
  B) 4.0 N
  C) 16 N
  D) 1/4 N
  E) 1/16 N

Question 2

How is it possible for the angular magnification to be large and, at the same time, for the lateral magnification to be small? Give an example.

The angular mag. is the ratio of ANGULAR size looking through the instrument compared to the angular size without. The lateral magnification is the ratio of the actual size of image compared to that of the object. The two magnifications are comparing different things. As an example: the moon may appear larger (in angle) through a telescope but the image is certainly smaller than the moon itself.
