How would you weigh the astronauts in orbit (where they feel weightless) so that you can keep them in good health?

What will be an ideal response?

Question 2

It was once thought that a black hole absorbed all the radiation falling upon it and radiated none.

If this were true, what would one infer the temperature of a black hole to be? Actually Stephen Hawking discovered that black holes have a VERY small probability of radiating. Modifying your first answer, would you now infer a large or small temperature for a black hole.?

Answer to Question 1

You could determine their MASS by harnessing them to springs, setting them to oscillate (SHM) and timing their period of oscillation. Knowing the spring constant allows one to calculate the mass. Remember 2 = k/m

Answer to Question 2

If no radiation escaped, then its equivalent temperature would be 0 K. But since it radiates (very little) it must be slightly above absolute zero.
