Space-based telescopes are exceptionally stable spacecraft, so that they can track small changes without shifting. They are positioned to continuously monitor a region of the sky, and they are not limited to Earth's nighttime-only viewing. They have wide fields of view compared to most space telescopes, so they can monitor thousands of stars at once.
