Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

Meteorites are generally very dark and stand out against the bright icy surface of the Antarctic. There is no vegetation to hide them and snow is rare, so they are remain visible for a long time. Further, glaciers tend to funnel rocks on their surface into a small area, increasing the concentration of meteorites in certain areas.
