The higher the frequency, the greater the energy the photon carries, but the shorter its wavelength.

Answer to Question 2

The actual center of the galaxy is hidden by nearby dust clouds, although in fact the southern summer Milky Way is much brighter than the northern winter portions. We see portions of only three spiral arms visually, with the brightest one lying toward Sagittarius in the summer southern sky.
